Sea Mills Community Initiative (SMCI)
SMCI is a charitable company which was set up in 2009 by the churches in Sea Mills, Bristol.
Their aim is to support and serve those locally who are vulnerable, either because of age – both young and old – ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.
Community projects which they set up and manage include the Sea Mills Community Garden, the space at the Sea Mills Methodist Church and also the Cafe on the Square.
The Cafe on the Square is located right at the centre of the community of Sea Mills.
Located on the site of a former public toilet, the bright and friendly cafe was opened back in 2012 by the Princess Royal.
